Co-author of several elegant fusion projects with guitarist Jose Luis Monton in recent years, Malikian here turns his attention to Spain's violin virtuoso and composer, Pable de Sarasate. While Malikian's selection of repertoire is pretty standard fare for "Spanish" Sarasate programs, he plays the music with surprising verve and lyricism. Zigeunerweisen (Aires Bohemios), Playera, Zapateado, Capricho Vasco, Romanza Andaluza, Jota Navarra, Adios Montanas Mias, Malaguena, Introduccion y Tarantella, Miramar, and Habanera.
