As representative of its period as Sabicas' Flamenco Puro, and infinitely more influential in its time, Ni–o RicardoÕs 1958 solo recording has been re-issued once again, digitally restored and remastered for this 2011 edition. If any one record could be isolated as the portal to the modern style of playing Flamenco guitar (Paco de Lucia, Manolo Sanlucar...), this would have to be the one. Seguiriyas, Soleares, Alegrias in A, Granainas, Tientos, Fandangos, Seguiriyas in E, Soleares in A, Alegrias in E, Tarantas, Bulerias, Malaguenas, and Zapateado. Absolutely essential listening, especially for anyone interested in the history and evolution of the Flamenco guitar.
